Lovlina Borgohain has become the first Assamese woman and first Indian boxer to assure India of an Olympic medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Overall, she has become the third Indian boxer to win an Olympic Medal after legendary boxers Mary Kom and Vijender Singh.
